Fashion Trend for Fall and Winter
Wide shoulders, capes and long blazers definitely do not have anything to do with summer anymore. The Fashion Week in Copenhagen showed the latest Autumn and Winter looks. Punk and gothic are glamorously styled and can be worn by even less courageous people. This Winter, we are accompanied by pantsuits and long blazers again and an it is worth investing in leather, because we will see this trend for a long time.
Don't be afraid of wide shoulders.
Volume, volume and more volume. Ruffles, puffy arms and layers are amongst the popular trends for this fall and winter season. Key pieces are blazers and dresses with pronounced, wide shoulders. In contrast to the masculine silhouette, attention is being drawn to a slim waist.
Capes or patterned coats?
Of course, we need a coat in the winter. Try steering away from the usual boring pieces by adding patterns or even a cape to your wardrobe. A cape suits any outfit. A cape adds a touch of elegance to a casual outfit and is perfect when paired with an already classy outfit, as well. Long capes are especially popular this season.
After the revival of the 90s, the 80s are now back.
Fashion revivals are always challenging. At first the 90s comeback was met with skepticism, but ultimately the trend was embraced and celebrated in the fashion world. Now the sporty, casual look of the 90s is getting some competition from disco-inspired looks of the 70s - welcome back sequins and plateau heels - and the strong statement pieces of the 80s - big shoulders! This fall and winter season can't decide which decade to follow and so, trends from both eras are being celebrated. These retro pieces look best when paired with a classy or low-key outfit, but for a night of partying, it's ok to go all out.
Punk, gothic, gothic-chic combined with glamour
Grunge, punk and goth are being combined with glamour and interesting, brave looks are created when overstepping this fashion rule. Combat boots, black leather dresses and a combination of stripes and checkers are the favorites for this trend.
The new power suits
Checkered pantsuits are perfect for this fall and winter, as well as for the trendy 70s comeback. Instead of a blazer, many designers are combining them with long vests. Checkers, houndstooth prints and typical winter materials like, velvet, can be found in every designer's collection. Pantsuits are being combined with logo and statement shirts or bow blouses.
Long blazers that reach over the hips are popular this season. Sleek tops and slim-fit trousers are being combined with them. On warm fall days, sandals can complete the look. For colder days, a great pair of ankle boots.
Whether suede or imitation leather, leather is in trend this fall. The key pieces of the season are leather shirts and long, slim-fit leather pants. Great looks in this super trendy material could be found at the Fashion Week in Copenhagen.
