The underrated micro trend: aprons
Aprons and apron skirts are real game changers - three easy ways to include them in your wardrobe for an instant style update
Aprons are having a moment. Do you need one? Definitely! And don’t worry, you are not going to look like a housewife from the Fifties - instead, an apron will instantly upgrade your look into something more interesting. Here is how it works:
The leather apron over pants
The pants and shirt combination is one of our favourite everyday looks. But it can look a little incomplete sometimes, especially when worn without a jacket. A short leather apron worn over wider pants looks effortlessly cool, and you can also layer it under longer shirts.
Rule: The longer the apron, the slimmer your pants should be! They are also an easy way to make simple midi or knee-length skirts exciting again:
Just tie the apron over your old pleated skirt and tuck in a slim blouse or sweater.
The cocktail apron
The cocktail apron is almost like a belt with fabric on the side. It is the perfect extravaganza if you don’t have time to change after work. Just put your cocktail apron over anything you have been wearing in the office, like cigarette pants and a turtleneck - or under the jacket of your suit!
The apron skirt
If you feel like you need a new skirt (and your closet is already full of midi versions), invest in the apron skirt: you can wear it over pants or alone - worn with flats it is a perfectly laid-back look!
