An Ode to Valentine's Day
FIRST OF ALL, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
A holiday for love whether you're celebrating it with your significant other or just enjoying a box of chocolate truffles, we can all agree on the fact that love isn’t for the weak at heart. Love is for the strong and sensitive woman. It’s for those hard working, getting no recognition, fighting to be heard and never stopping kind of woman. That’s the real point: never stopping. Love is for those, who can stand duration, because it’s ever lasting for eternity.
Speaking of eternity, this Valentine post from Dolly Alderton is something to listen to. Every woman, who is a fighter, sees herself in this and every man, lucky enough to have a strong woman at his side, recognizes his better half in this poem about ever lasting love.
The strong and sensitive woman of 2020 isn’t afraid to give her love away. Even though love can be fragile, she’s not afraid to show emotion, because at her core is strength and confidence.
She’s extremely delicate, but in all the right ways. Her exterior is gentle and kind. However, she pulls down walls, so you can love her with the ones you built. She tells you when it hurts, because you go to the deepest parts, creating a wound inside of a wound. Of course, she’ll lie, but only to protect you. She’ll lay all the cards on the table – present, past and future, even if others would be scared to do so. She’s not afraid. She’ll tell you how much she loves you, even though you might be overwhelmed and not ready – she is.
She’s strong, so strong that strong needs to be reinvented. She’s soft, so soft that soft needs to be redefined.
It’s not easy to be both things. But she thinks she has to be strong, so she can battle those who might harm you. And she feels more powerful from a distance for you to fix yourself.
Sometimes, she’d rather be soft and cry on your shoulder. She wants you to dig deep and see her for what she is. She wants to be truly, madly loved, understood and noticed - loved.
Love is confusing when she’s strong and sensitive.
Am I right gentlemen - is this her?
