The White Blouse
Blame it on effortlessness, but there’s nothing more comforting than wearing a white top. Be it ladylike or girlish, it can be combined with just about anything when the I-have-nothing-to-wear monster shows its ugly nose in my wardrobe!
From the timeless button down to the whimsical ruffled blouse or the very professional pussy bow, it’s easy to get carried away when I have so many options (where is that monster now?). Indeed, over the years, I have collected several versions of the iconic shirt and they are now the undeniable wardrobe hero I can always rely on, depending on the life I want to live on a particular day.
When I Want to Have:
- a delightful spring moment:
I dress up my basic cropped denim with a pair of pretty shoes and an exquisite handbag and love to inject a touch of masculinity into this girly ensemble with an oversized button down.
- a princessy moment:
I opt for a button down with overly dramatic sleeves to elevate my slip game finishing the look with trendy lace up ballerina flats.
- a rocker chic moment:
mixing sheer fabric, a lavish display of ruffles and black leather is absolutely the way to go, if I want to exude an elegant femininity.
- a romantic moment:
teaming up a divine blouse with bell sleeves and ruffled collar with my favorite distressed jeans and a pair of sneakers is such an effortless route to chic.
- a high drama moment:
there’s nothing more exciting than taking a strapless dress down a notch by pairing it with a short sleeve button down.
- a boho chic moment:
I opt for an off-the-shoulder silk blouse and wide leg pants and accessorize the all white ensemble with an elegant floppy hat. Wedge sandals and a little jewelry, such as a delicate choker, add the ultimate bohemian feel to this fab outfit.
- a true fashionista moment:
I sport a blouse with a flirtatious open back and oversize sleeves with massive cuffs and a simple denim or stylish high-waisted trouser
- a corporate moment:
I free my inner girl boss and wear a gorgeous pussy bow blouse with a whimsical skirt. I like a business outfit to look professional, but not boring.
- a diva moment:
ruffles and puff sleeves paired with ultra glam flared trousers make for a stunning spring statement.
- a breezy summer moment:
I prefer to opt for a linen button down. There’s something very laid back about linen and it’s a great fabric to wear for the I-woke-up-like-this kind of mood.
