I want to get married and need a stylish, smart casual outfit for the big day.
I want to get married, but literally hate big, fancy wedding dresses. It's just not my style and, to be honest, I don’t see the point of spending so much money on a dress that won't ever be worn again. I'm young and a big, fancy dress wouldn't fit to my personality, nor could I handle such a dress, and would love to find a more modern outfit that isn’t just for one day.
So, we asked ourselves what we might wear, in the situation of “I want to get married and need a stylish, smart casual outfit”. We wanted to create an outfit, which would give the bride the opportunity to wear the clothes long after the wedding day in a daily setting or to some special event. Fasten your seatbelts, we’ve got some proposals for all types of women…
The modern and cool type of bride can free herself from old wedding habits and create an unforgettable wedding outfit by choosing a suit with cropped pants and a short blazer to show off her figure. In all white or cream, you will still look like the typical bridal. Shiny silk or soft cotton material underlines the festive atmosphere of the occasion. A nice contrast to wearing a suit instead of a dress is to pair it with pastel colored high heels and a clutch in the same color. On top of that, pastel statement jewelry will give your outfit an edgy, but fashionable touch, especially when matched to the colors of the bridal bouquet.
By choosing a suit for the big day, you will have no problem integrating the pieces into your daily wardrobe. Paired with a long blouse or sweater, it can easily be combined with something else for daily wear; either sporty with sneakers or elegant with heels. Whether going for a night out or to work, you are sure wear this more than once than only on the special day! The blazer can also be worn separately. Go for the layered look and pair it with a short skirt and a longer top or blouse for every day.
So far, so good – but not your style? I want to get married, but need a more sophisticated outfit. Why not try a suit with wide legged pants and a hip-length blazer? Wearing a wide belt over the blazer gives the outfit a more modern touch and keeps the look elegant. A small top in nude is the perfect choice for underneath the blazer while a silken material gives any top a more glamorous touch, the suit would look best in soft falling viscose. To keep the bridal vibe, choose light colors like beige or something between nude and very light pastel rosé. Sling pumps in rosé are the perfect mix between sex, femininity and sophistication, while pearls and a silk clutch in rosé are both elegant and beautiful. But how can this outfit be combined for after the big day? No worries, this outfit can be worn after the wedding to great parties and events. Combine the suit it in different ways and create a whole new look with a sweater and sneakers or with a long blouse or an elegant top in a different color.
In case you’re thinking “I want to get married, but am missing the romance with those outfits”, hold on – we’ve got a romantic version as well! What about a short lace dress in a simple cut with a deep-set waistline, no collar and short arms that clings softly to the body? When it comes to the material, a fine cotton lace makes this dress endlessly elegant. Light beige or nude is still bridal enough and makes it easy to wear after the wedding. As for accessories, a statement necklace is a nice touch while high heels in nude and a silken clutch makes you feel as special as you should on your day! Wondering what you need to make this special dress ready for daily wear? A sweater is the answer! Worn over the dress with ballerinas or sneakers makes it the perfect down-dressing alternative for daily wear. Be brave and pair it with colored stockings and a casual handbag.
